Explore your next step
- at your own pace

You may be here because you’re curious about counselling or psychotherapy – or because something in your work, life, or relationships is nudging you toward deeper, more meaningful work with people.

Many of our students arrive feeling unsure:

  • Am I too old to retrain?

  • Do I need a psychology background?

  • Is this really for someone like me?

  • Is it realistic to study while managing everything else?

You don’t need to have it all figured out – or give everything up to begin.

At Physis Scotland, we offer supportive, accredited training in counselling and psychotherapy for people at many different starting points – including career changers, support professionals, and those returning to work. Whether you’re just beginning to explore or ready to take a first step, we’ll help you find a path that fits. Our training is part-time and designed to fit around existing work and responsibilities.

Training pathways – start where you are

Most people don’t begin therapy training by making a big commitment. They start by exploring, learning, and noticing how the work feels.

Our courses are designed as clear, supported pathways, so you can begin with curiosity and move forward when – and if – you’re ready.

What is Transactional Analysis?

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychotherapy and counselling approach that helps us understand how people relate, communicate, and change.

It’s known for being clear and practical, while offering real depth for long-term clinical work. Many students find TA immediately useful – both professionally and personally – while continuing to discover new layers as their training develops.
