Look no further. Our dynamic integrative Diploma in Counselling Supervision programme draws on TA philosophy and a wide range of theories, aligning with the BACP Supervision Core Competencies. Delivered in-person over 10 days, our interactive training will equip you with essential supervisory skills and theoretical knowledge.

An in-depth knowledge of several models of supervision, both developmental and task focussed

A clear ethical framework for your work as a supervisor, and enable your supervisees to develop their own ethical thinking

An understanding of the differences between therapeutic work and supervision, and an ability to work at the boundary of these aspects whilst maintaining the role of supervisor

Supervision skills for working with both novice and experienced counsellors

An understanding and ability to critique applications of supervision for both individual and group supervision

Development of your identity as a supervisor based on your own philosophy of supervision
Pre-course requirements

A COSCA Diploma in Counselling or equivalent
-
A minimum 2 years post-Diploma counselling/psychotherapy experience

At least 450 hours of counselling/psychotherapy practice

Be in ongoing supervision for clinical practice

Be practicing as a supervisor or have the opportunity to supervise at least 2 supervisees working with adults over the duration of the course

A basic knowledge of Transactional Analysis (advantageous), although not a requirement

24 hours of supervised supervision practice, which need to be completed within 6 months of completing the taught component of the course

Course fee
Annual course fee for 2025/2026 is £1,654 (inc. VAT). If you are being sponsored through your organisation, the fee is £2014 (inc.VAT). If your sponsoring organisation is a charity, the fee is £1,654 (inc. VAT). Physis Scotland is committed to making training accessible and inclusive, therefore a termly payment plan or alternatively, a 10-month payment plan is available.

Recognition
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded the COSCA Validated Diploma in Counselling Supervision, and you will be able to practice as a counselling supervisor within your modality. The course also has Advanced Specialist training recognition with National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.
