Organisational Transactional Analysis
You already know TA. This is where it goes next – into teams, organisations and whole systems.
A pathway for TA practitioners ready to take their thinking into the organisational field: from free introductory webinars with Drs Sari van Poelje, through an in-depth programme in organisational development and team coaching, and on towards the CTA qualification in the organisational field.
Physis Scotland and Intact Academy have come together to offer this as a structured, annually-running pathway, led by one of the field's most experienced practitioners.
Free webinars to start.
You’ve done some TA. Take it into organisations.
If you’ve completed a TA101, a Foundation Year and some clinical training - you already hold the core: ego states, transactions, scripts, games. Organisational TA turns that same lens on groups, teams and whole systems, alongside the systemic concepts Berne developed for organisations: boundaries, roles, dynamics, imago.
It’s a natural next step for those interested in the field of TA Organisational, the same rigour and relational depth you know from the psychotherapy clinical training, applied to the organisational world. With a TA101 and two years of TA behind you, you can join the Organisational Development & Leadership programme directly and work towards the CTA qualification in the organisational field.
-
Build on the TA you already have
-
Apply ego states, scripts and transactions to coaching and consulting
-
Work with systemic concepts - boundaries, roles, dynamics, imago
-
Develop a coherent methodology for working with teams and organisations
-
Progress towards the CTA (organisational) qualification (EATA / ITAA)
-

Newer to TA, or coming from coaching or leadership?
You're very welcome at the free webinars – no TA background needed. To join the programme itself you’ll need a grounding in TA, which you can build with us through a TA101 and our Foundation Year. Experienced coaches and consultants may be able to join directly through comparable training, and the best way to find out is a conversation.
The Pathway
Most of our practitioners take the direct route. If you're newer to TA, you can build the foundation with us first via Foundation Year and at least one year of clinical training.
The Direct Route
For practitioners with a TA foundation
A TA101 and at least two years of TA is all you need. Meet Sari at a free webinar if you’d like, then join the programme.

Both routes lead to the same place: confident organisational practice and, if you wish, the CTA qualification in the organisational field and EMCC senior accreditation.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Organisational TA
A free, one-hour conversation with Drs Sari van Poelje
Less a webinar than an open conversation - a relaxed way in, whether you're deepening TA you already have or just starting to explore the organisational field. Meet Sari, the trainer behind the programme, and ask whatever you're curious about: what it means to work with a whole organisation rather than the individuals inside it, how your existing TA carries across, what the programme involves, and whether it's the right next step. Come with questions, or just come and listen.

Organisational Development & Leadership
Most of us spend our working lives inside organisations, yet the frameworks we're handed for understanding them rarely match how complex they actually are. Organisational TA goes deeper. Building on the organisational thinking Eric Berne developed alongside his better-known work on the individual, it gives you a way to read an organisation's structure, its dynamics and its culture - and, crucially, to know where and how to intervene.
This is the heart of the pathway: six two-day workshops over the programme year, taking you from the major frames in the field to confident, evidenced practice with teams, leaders and sponsors. You'll leave with a coherent method rather than a bag of tools - and with the hours and theory that count toward your ICF CEUs and the CTA (organisational) examination.
Cohorts begin 17 November 2026, delivered in Edinburgh and online. For practitioners with a TA101 and at least two years of TA or comparable training.
What you’ll be able to do
By the end of the programme you’ll hold a working theoretical frame for systemic organisational development, a rigorous model for multi-stakeholder contracting, diagnosis and intervention, and a deepened understanding of yourself in the role of leader or change agent. You’ll have a signature presence in organisational and team work, stronger results with the teams and sponsors you serve, and the grounding to sit the CTA (organisational) examination - a foundation you can extend, if you wish, into full EMCC senior coach accreditation.
The six workshops
Built around the Organisational TA and EMCC Global Team Coaching Professional Core Standards, the programme is led by Drs Sari van Poelje. Sari has spent forty +years doing this work in a whole range of organisations from small family firms to multinationals including Shell, KLM and ASML.
-
Transformational team coaching – The major frames in the field (TA, systemic, psychodynamic and behavioural) and how to choose between them. Building your signature presence.
-
Working with purpose – Multi-stakeholder contracting around team purpose, mission and demand. Working with the real task behind the stated one.
-
Creating agile structures – Roles, decision rights and operating rhythms. Designing structures that let teams adapt without losing coherence.
-
Cross-functional cooperation – Working across silos: psychological safety, intergroup dynamics and partnering in service of the team's collective needs.
-
Winning cultures – Diagnosing and shifting team culture. Surfacing the assumptions, norms and stories teams tell themselves.
-
Evaluation and evidence – Outcome evaluation with teams and sponsors; the EMCC, ICF and EATA codes in practice; preparing your CTA evidence.
Is it for you?
The programme is designed first for TA practitioners - from psychotherapy, counselling or education - who are ready to take their work into teams and whole systems. It also suits experienced coaches, consultants, HR professionals and leaders who have built a TA foundation, or who bring substantial comparable training, and who want structured, in-depth practice alongside a group of motivated peers.
Choose your level
The same six workshops sit at the heart of all three packages – supervision, the online learning platform and accreditation are added as your goals grow.
Basic – The six two-day workshops, trainer presentations and reflection self-tests: the hours and theory that feed your CTA (organisational) examination and ICF CEUs. £2,900 individuals · £4,300 organisations
Integrated – Everything in Basic, plus group supervision between workshops and hours toward your ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE). £3,400 individuals · £4,800 organisations
EMCC Accredited – Everything in Integrated, plus the online learning platform and a case-study route to EMCC Senior Practitioner and Senior Team Coach status. £4,500 individuals · £5,900 organisations
A note on our rates.
Each package is offered at an individual rate, for participants funding their own professional development, and an organisational rate, for those whose place is funded by an employer. This keeps the training accessible to individuals while ensuring organisations contribute appropriately to developing their people. If you're unsure which applies, get in touch and we'll advise.
Ready to talk it through?
