TA Deep Dive: The Drama Triangle: Accounting for the Discount

Workshop Outline

The Drama Triangle (1968) is a well-established TA theory that has developed way past TA (Summerton, 1993), and has been even been researched (Lac & Donaldson, 2022). In this workshop we will consider some of the more complex ways that this can be used in clinical work – considering practically how we might use this with our clients to support change.

We will also consider how this sits within the wider TA landscape and how we can best write about the Drama Triangle.

Aims

The aim for this workshop is to give an overview of how we might use and write about the Drama Triangle, moving past awareness building.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will have a solid understanding of the Drama Triagle, and how to practically work with this model with their clients.

Ben is a psychotherapist based in York, previously a social worker for over 10 years, Ben started his private practice ‘Flux Therapy’ in 2019.
