Workshop outline
This is workshop 2, of a five-part series ‘Working with Neurodivergent Clients. The workshops are an in-depth exploration of working with neurodivergent clients, looking at the common themes and challenges that neurodivergent people bring to therapy. All the sessions have plenty of room for discussion and reflection. They will be delivered in an open and relaxed format where you will be encouraged to join in. This is an evolving area of research and there are still many unknowns. This course will equip you with a tool kit to confidently manage working with neurodivergent clients. In Workshop 2 we will focus on Challenges. We now understand the different types of neurodiversity (Workshop 1), but what happens when a client is, for example, both ADHD and autistic and they are experiencing conflicting challenges? • How do you work with someone who has a huge variation from day to day and week to week with their challenges? • What is the impact of dual or multiple diagnoses in practice?
Who is it aimed at?
Transactional Analysis (TA) counselling and psychotherapy students and practitioners.
