For those who are interested in working with couples and would like to find out more. Based on Transactional Analysis (TA) but prior knowledge of TA is not required.
Over the two days we will be exploring the challenges of working with couples, looking at how our personal and professional boundaries can be tested, as well as gaining some TA tools on how to undertake this rewarding work. Working with a couple means working with any two people in a relationship, so as well as the lesbian, gay, heterosexual relationship it can also include couples where one or both individuals are transitioning and any two people who want to help their relationship i.e. mother and daughter.
To understand the differences of this work and whether you would like to integrate seeing couples into your practice. For the experienced couple practitioner, a chance to have a TA perspective and potentially gain some new insights and tools. A weekend of exploring and learning.
Understanding the impact of this work and how to attend to this with healthy boundaries; models to help your work with couples and beginning to look at how TA can be used in this fascinating therapeutic field.
A mixture of didactic teaching, group discussion and practice.
